We have uploaded Bernie v1.2 last Wednesday. If you haven't tuned in on Bernie on your Mac, this is probably what you have been waiting for. The new version features: - support for .NIB images (protected 5.25" software) - faster & better video driver - ultrahot, megacool InkMeister Pro for graphic cross-platform printing! (comes as a preview - not finished yet but major parts working, including text printing) - 60Hz synch for faster Macs (self-configuring) - improved automatic mouse switching - automatic keyboard switching (compatibility with AppleWorks macros) - Appearance Manager - nice Bernie->Finder switching from within Power Mode (shift-F8) - bug fixes We have also launched a new mailing list focused on emulation with Bernie. Everyone can join in. I'm mentioning this being fully aware that the list is currently down :-}, but Joe Nowak, the list sponsor, is feverishly working on a fix. Once the list is up and running again, it will possibly continue where it left off, namely at 30+ messages a day. This one delivers! (Oh yes, Digests are available, too...) Inkmeister Pro is our new proprietary, fully GS/OS-compliant printing engine. It allows you to print from within any application that uses standard OS printing stuff to print to your Macintosh printer. Text, graphics, colors - no problems. The current release is a preview, and certain elements are not yet implemented. Text and basic objects come through just fine, and it looks quite spectacular. More info is here: http://www.magnet.ch/emutech/ Mailing list infos are at http://www.magnet.ch/emutech/Bernie/List/. We will let you know on that web page when it's back at work. Keep on emulating! - henrik F.E.Systems
