This one works great for me.  Make sure you are using the right hardware-
handshaking cable and you have selected the USR Dual Standard HW/HS driver
for ProTerm and high-speed modem port DSR driver for ANSITerm.  Issue the
following commands to your modem.

AT&F
ATB0E0X4&A0&B1&D0&N0&H1&I0&K3&R2
AT&W

The above is now written to non-volatile memory.  Just put

ATZ

in your init string.
