It IS true. At one point USR was using the exact same ROMs in their Dual Standard modems as they were in their newly released (at that time) Sportsters. With a simple AT command you could effectively change your Sportster into a fake 16.8k dual standard. I'm not sure if the above IS the correct string or not.... Once word got out, those modems went like hotcakes here in Edmonton!
