	Both. Whether you boot the original directly from disk or
install it on your hardrive, it will refuse to operate on a ROM 3.
What will happen is a (yellow) text screen will appear asking you to 
insert the 'Master key disk' or such, but it just sticks here after
you press return. It's quite possible a minor update version was
released that fixed this, though it's simple enough patch yourself.

	I have it running just fine from my hardrive, you just have
to disable the key-disk protection. Below are the required bytes that
need to be patched in order to do so. Make sure you apply these changes
to a BACK-UP copy and not the original!
