Imagewriter II platen removal ============================= Remove the ribbon, the envelope guide card (two screws), the panel with the switches (2 screws), the legs (one screw each, hidden in the base of the leg), and the platen knob and control lever for single sheet or pin fed paper. Now the whole carriage mechanism should be removed. However, it can be done without removing it. You have to remove the correct combination of screws on the knob side so that the platen can be raised from that side. Then reach under, remove the label, and use isporopyl alcohol to remove the adhesive residue from the label. _________________________________ | | | sjensen@qnis.net | | sjensen@cello.gina.calstate.edu | |_________________________________|
