Topic: Delta.sys, an aide to compressing GS sound files

Instructions for use:
   Delta.sys is a system file.  In order to Delta-ize or un-delta-ize a song,
launch the file Delta.sys with the pathname in the startup buffer (in other
words, type "DELTA.SYSTEM FILENAME" from any shell, including Davex).  FILENAME
must be at least 5 characters long.  The program requires an enhanced //e,
although I don't know of any uses other than GS sound files.
   If the file is a song, it will be delta-ized and written out to a binary
file.  The last 3 letters of the file name will be replaced by ".DLT".   The
file will be the exact same length.   If the startup buffer did not contain a
song file (type $D9), the program will do the reverse and save it with the last
3 letters replaced with ".SNG".   The screen display doesn't do anything but
print a '*' for every 255 bytes it converts.  Yipee.  User interface? We don't
need no stinkin' user interface.
   Once the song is delta-ized, you can shrink it with ShrinkIt.  If all goes
well, the shrunk file will have a better compression ratio then if you just
shrunk the original.  Go ahead and try it, and let me know the results.
   This is just a Beta version (although it works).  After I get some response,
I will spiff it up a little, and even post the source code.
