Description: Apple IIGS: 5.25" System Utilities Header: Apple IIGS: 5.25" System Utilities To organize a user's disks, the Apple IIGS System Utilities program formats and copies disks and can copy, rename, and delete files, performing most of these functions on 4 of the Apple II operating systems: DOS 3.3, ProDOS, Pascal, and CP/M. Distributed on a 3 1/2" disk, the program works only on the Apple IIGS. You can create a 5 1/4" floppy disk version of the program using the System Utilities in the following steps: 1. Format a 5 1/4" disk 2. Copy these 5 files from System Utilities to the 5 1/4" disk: a. P8 -- This is ProDOS - found in the SYSTEM sub-directory. b. SYSUTIL.SYSTEM * c. GSSU0 * d. GSSU1 * e. GSSUE1 * * These 4 files comprise the System Utilities program, and can be found in the SYS.UTILS sub-directory. They must be kept in the same directory. 3. Rename the file 'P8' to 'PRODOS' System Utilities may now be booted from the floppy disk. The files take up around 180 blocks and leave about 100 blocks for extra file storage.
