I've waited long enough to report my results: As with some other things, the TransWarp doesn't get along with the RamKeeper -- boots okay, runs some programs okay, crashes under other programs and slams shut when trying to unpack a forked file. Remove the RamKeeper, remove the main source of problems. So add this to the list of problems: If your new TransWarp is a little flaky (or a lot flaky), not only are the problems listed in the CSA2 FAQ regarding accellerators something to look into, but these three things *someone* needs to add to the FAQ also could be the matter: 1) Bad ribbon cable to the motherboard chip socket (AE used to replace these free, now someone else does it in gold for a price) 2) Bad CPU chip 3) Despite what the RamFast manual says about operating a TransWarp GS in a machine with a RamKeeper card, the RamKeeper is not completely stable, merely starts up with the settings described. The TWGS works great now, now that I've removed the RamKeeper, made sure the card and cabled plug are in solidly (have not looked to see if the cable has a dot on it, the mark of a revised issue), and added a fan to the inside to give some of the touchier chips a Lewinsky. << mushroom >> * 2qwk! 2.04 * DOS: Doesn't Operate Steadily; chasm where programs are lost.
