Am I on the right track?" > There are two ways to make a cable from the GS to your modem one is to make a cable that goes between your cable and the modem and the other is to make a 8 to 25 cable, here are both solutions. For a 25 to 25 jumper. Wire 1,2,3,5,and 7 straight through, on the plug that goes to the modem connect 6 to 20, and on the socket connect 20, goes to GS, to 4 on the plug, end that goes to modem. For a 8 to 25 cable. These are given with the din number first. 1 to 4, 2 to 5, 3 to 2, 4 to 7, and 5 to 3, with this setup you have to tell the modem to ignore the dtr. This is looking at the end of the din with it numbered like this. 6 7 8 3 4 5 1 2 I have made the 25 to 25 jumper and it works fine. ***************************************************************************** * The only reason for time * * * is so two things don't * Mark Simmonds * * happen at once. * msimmond@ub.d.umn.edu * * Buckaro Banzai * * *****************************************************************************
