What kind of hardware are you using? RamFAST's >in particular are having problems with remapped slots & ProDOS 8 v2.0.1. Well folks The problem can now be fixed. I spoke today with Drew Vogen at CVT, and he refered me to Tim Grams who has been kind enough to give me the fix to share with all.. Use your favorite block editor (I used Block Warden) and get into the P8 file in your system sub-directory then go to block 5 of the P8 file and find location 1A3. there you should find a value of A5. Change it to 00 save it back to the disk, and presto!!!! all of the broken P8 programs will work again.. CAUTION: DO NOT DO THE ABOVE MOD TO YOUR ORIGINAL DISKS.. MAKE A BACKUP TO WORK ON!!! What this is supposed to do is turn off the re-mapping feature in P8 so that only the RamFast card does the remapping.. CVT will have a new chip upgrade available next week (upgrade price is $15) that will allow you to turn on or off the remapping from the chip. Then you will have a choice to either allow the Ramfast to do the remap or to allow Prodos 8.2.1 to remap.. -- bsherman@mthvax.cs.miami.edu | | MCI MAIL: BSHERMAN >> Miami's Big Apple - 305-948-8000 - 24 hours - 300/1200 - PCP'able << >> Oldest Apple support board in Southeast.
