Can they be used in a IIGS? How? There are two (E)IDE controllers for the IIGS. One is the Focus controller, which comes with the Focus hard drive card. According to Alltech's advertisements, the controller card can drive any IDE drive (for example, the ones in the Vulcan) with a standard notebook to 3.5" IDE cable. The cheapest Focus costs $59 and I don't think they sell it without the mechanism, but you can buy one for the controller. http://www.allelec.com/ Alltech Electronics has a web site. The other one is the MicroDrive TurboIDE card, an updated version of the TurboIDE that now supports 2GB per partition and 2 drives per card. SHH Systeme of Germany makes them. http://users.ids.net/~kerwood/shh.html SHH Systeme has a web site.
