Another note ...

ProTERM also works with the "METAL Hardware Handshaking Cable" which was a 
cable developed to work with the METAL BBS software.

The difference between that cable and the one above is that pin 1 on the DIN-8 
is not shorted across to the DTR pin on the modem.

The *normal* modem cable runs pin 1 on the GS to the DTR pin on the modem, so 
when ProTERM toggles RTS on the normal cable, or the special cable above, to a 
modem that doesn't ignore DTR, it can cause random hangups.

The cure, of course, is to tell the modem to ignore DTR, which is a pain in the 
rear for hanging up the connection, but if you can live with +++ATH0, then hey 
:)
