Just wanted to remind you that that sound player that is so impressive in its use of a 1 MHz, 8-bit Apple ][ is _mine_, which Phillip uses in IISound. He wrapped an aux-slot memory routine around it, but the basic SoftDAC and its sound quality are mine--and, needless to say, I'm proud of it! ;-) I originally released it on SoftDisk, and now a later, improved version (of the editor, not the sound player) is available on my web page at: members.aol.com/mjmahon/index.htm This is Sound Editor, a fairly capable editor for 8-bit Apples, though the duration of sounds is limited to 1.8 seconds by my desire to keep it runnable on _any_ 64K Apple ][. Cheers, -michael>> You have every reason to be proud, Michael. Thank you again for helping me download your program from your webpage. No slight was intended. Your program is wonderful and I've showed it off at my Apple II club meeting. Since this wishlist is about AppleWorks and, with the exception of increasing the memory and patching an early version of AppleWorks (up to 1.3 or 2.0, I forget which), I was figuring on the new AppleWorks running off of a modern Apple IIc, e, gs or emulator so that it would access to a large volume and RAM. Maybe you could lend your expertise to Beverly at Texas ][? Between the two of you magicians, a macro could be written to tap into the Apple II's audio capabilities while inside the most popular program, AppleWorks. The increased length of the sounds that II.Sound is capable of brought it to mind as a more attractive addition to AppleWorks. I always get a kick out of playing "Badges? We don't got no badges. We don't need no badges. We don't have to show you any STINKING BADGES!" That's more than a bit past the 1.8 second mark and I love each second of it. --Glad to know that you're still keeping in touch with your Apple II! Jay Edwards ===> P.S. I still have trouble trying to bring up your webpage. ______ _/_____/! /______ /! | !~! | //e | / (ASCII Art, best |_______|/|-,.::... viewed with a |-=-|-=-|// : ; monospaced font, /######/ / : I : such a Courier.) ~~~~~~~~~ .: (") []
