Actually, there is also a free version of GSoft BASIC. It shares the limitations of Applesoft in that you can't create stand-alone programs, but since it's free, so what? You can send the free version of GSoft BASIC with the Program. It's also limited to 64K or program and 64K for variables, but then Applesoft is limited to about 40K for both--and even less if you use graphics. In short, the only reasons I can see to use Applesoft are: 1. You're running a program written in Applesoft and don't want to take the time to convert it. 2. The program must run on 8 bit machines. GSoft BASIC is GS only. 3. It's not worth the trouble to download GSoft BASIC. In that case, the programming requirements must be pretty minimal! Mike Westerfield
