This is a little program I wrote a year or two ago to see if I could do anything with AppleTalk. It allows users on an AppleTalk Network to talk to each other (much like on America Online). The program is a Permanent Initialization file (filetype $B6) and should be put into your "System.Setup" directory along with the Alink.Snd file (if you want the chime when someone pages you). Once you have put both files in the directory, reboot your machine. Put this file on every machine in the network. The initialization program installs a CDA, which is how you will list users and talk to them. The name of the CDA is Message Center. Enter the control panel and choose the CDA. A split screen will come up and list all the users currently on the network on the right side of the screen. To page a user, simply hilight their name and hit the 'P' key. The recipient will hear a chime on their machine. Once they enter the CDA, your name will flash on their UserList, to show that you are the one paging them. To talk simply hit the 'S' key with their name hilighted, and you can both begin talking to each other! :) If you have any problem please leave me E-mail on America Online - Username : DL Davies If you would like the source code for this program please E-mail me also.
