Finder Extras are a special type of INIT file, which add functionality to the Finder rather than patching the system at a lower level. Some Finder Extras use a special file type for Finder Extras, while others look like normal Permanent Init files. Inits and Finder Extras in the FinderExtras folder will only be loaded when Finder itself is started up, and will be terminated when Finder quits. You shouldn't put arbitrary Inits in this folder - only ones that are known to be Finder Extras. > 2) I use the finder as an application file (not as START). > Should the finderextras still be in the SYSTEM folder or > may it be in the same folder where I keep the finder? It still has to be in the System folder. -- David Empson dempson@actrix.gen.nz Snail mail: P O Box 27-103, Wellington, New Zealand
