Which Apple II platform are you using? The software I wrote, X10House/X10 Survival Kit, only works on the IIgs and requires the X-10 CP290 Computer Interface (as does most II software). I believe that X-10 Inc. has discontinued the CP290. I had one on backorder from one of the Home Control stores for six months starting last July. Radioshack.com had them on sale for $40 about 2 months ago (search the site on catalog # 98-240; a search on CP290 didn't show it). If you intend to use a CP290 on the IIgs with my software, buy the Mac version of the CP290 so you get the correct serial cable. X10House uses the IIgs serial ports only. Most 8-bit X-10 software requires a Super Serial Card or a IIc serial port and won't run via the IIgs serial ports. An earlier post in this thread mentioned an FTP site that has X10House, however, this is an earlier version of the demo and the pricing and contact info are out of date. The current price of X10House and the X10Survival Kit is $22 (including shipping) and preferred contact is artcough@concentric.net. You might check ground and caltech archives for Apple II X-10 software (I haven't checked these urls in quite some time, so if they are out of date, someone please correct me). ftp://ground.ecn.uiowa.edu ftp://apple2.caltech.edu/ Art Coughlin
