You can use 256k x 1 type 41256 DRAM mem IC's (such as the NEC D41256). Other type numbers include MB81256 and HM50256. Speed should be 120ns or faster. (80ns chips seem to be fairly common. So, you might as well go for those.) Alltech may still sell the chips. Other places you could check are Halted Specialties, Mouser, and Digi-Key.
