You must be pretty rough on your CDs if they're only good for about a year. I got my first CD player in late 1993; the CDs I got with it at the time are still in like-new condition. Treat them well and they should last a good long time. (You didn't scratch the needle across your LPs, did you? Treat your CDs the same way you used to treat your records (unless they're AOL CD-ROMs, in which case I'd say they'll give a very nice light show in your microwave :-) ).) > Another thing about Audio CD's is that many of the car >stereo CD players scratch the heck out of the CD when you insert/eject >the disk. That sounds like a design flaw in the player. If you're running into frequent problems, consider copying CDs you play frequently to CD-R. When the copy craps out, make a new one. The better approach would be to either (1) get a better CD player or (2) lose the CD player altogether and go back to cassettes (you're not going to hear the full dynamic range of a CD in a moving car anyway). _/_ / v \ (IIGS( Scott Alfter (remove Voyager's hull number for email address) \_^_/ http://salfter.dyndns.org
