But now their all important project is in danger. Hostile aliens have begun attacking the city relentlessly. As the guardian of the city, you must destroy the enemy and repair the damaged buildings. The fuel in your ship is the last available from human sources, so keep an eye out for alien pilots. The enemy will let you ransom them for fuel and ship repairs. Good luck! GETTING STARTED > To get started with Zenith simply follow these steps (this is called booting ): 1. Make sure the power switch on the rear left of the computer is in the off position. 2. Open the disk drive door by pulling out and up on its bottom edge. Slip the diskette into drive #1 with your right thumb on the diskette s label. (The label will be up and will be the last edge of the diskette to enter the drive.) 3. When the diskette is entirely in the drive, close the drive door. 4. Turn the power switch to the on position. You will hear a beep from the computer and the in-use light on the disk drive will come on. This means that the program is loading. You will now see the Softsmith logo page and the Zenith title page appear on the screen. If you don t please try turning your computer off briefly, and then on again. ) IMPORTANT TIPS Follow these tips to minimize problems running this and many other microcomputer programs. Handle your diskettes carefully and always keep them in their special sleeves when not in use. Do make sure the shift lock light is lit if running this program on the Franklin Ace. It displays the captive aliens. HOW TO PLAY ZENITH When the Zenith title page appears on the screen, press to use the keyboard controls or Button 0 to to use the joystick controller. The computer will give you information on the game and ask you at which skill level you wish to play. Three is the easiest level. You must try to destroy alien ships and capture their pilots while racing against the clock. Line up your target between the two focal points on the screen and then fire with the . JOYSTICK CONTROLS restarts the game The joystick will move your spaceship in the direction you move the stick. Press Button 0 to fire the laser gun and Button 1 to repair buildings and capture aliens. To refuel, press Button 0 and Button 1 at the same time. When your fuel begins to get low, search for aliens. They can be traded for fuel and repairs. After you have captured three or four, you can go into hyperspace and travel to the alien s mother ship. The first three hostages will allow you to refuel and the fourth will let you have repairs made on your ship in addition to the fuel. You must trade all aliens quickly because they do not live long in captivity. Pay attention to the messages at the top of the screen. They give you clues and/or warnings. For a little extra help, press ; a pic ture will appear showing the status of the game, where you are, which buildings are on fire and where alien ships and pilots are.
