ShrinkIt 1.1 Copyright 1990-1992 by Andy Nicholas and Dave Lyons Name: ShrinkIt Version: 1.1 Date Released: 5/10/92 Description: ShrinkIt for the IIGS compresses and decompresses files and entire disks. This software requires an Apple IIGS, and System 5.0.4 or later. Note: This software is freely distributeable and is not an Apple product. Glue Sniffin' Ed notes: I'm not sure who made this wonderful mac binary version of this archive....but I'm really thankful to them for doing it. To use this: 1) Use Stuffit expander or a similar utility on your mac to decode this mac binary. You will then have a file called Shrinkit1.1.SEA 2) Copy this Shrinkit1.1.SEA file to a ProDOS formatted floppy using your macintosh. 3) Take this floppy...and place it into your Apple GS drive, and simply double click on the Shrinkit1.1.SEA file. This SEA file is a self extracting archive that is made for the Apple GS. You will now have the executable version of Shrinkit for your GS, GSHK. Hopefully this simple format will help out some of you other Apple newbies such as myself. If you don't have a macintosh....I would suggest you buy one. It's extremely convenient to have a mac for transfering files to and from your GS. I bought my laptop powerbook 165 for $90.00. And....I regularly see old Macintosh classic II machines going for under $35.00. To me.....$35.00 is worth it for the convenience of file transfers between platforms. i.e. PC to Mac to GS, and even back again. I downloaded GS OS 6.0.1 from apple's FTP for free...and used diskcopy on the mac to write out myself a whole set of GS OS floppies. Diskcopy is in the mac utilities section on apple's FTP. Now that the secrets out.....nobody has an excuse for not having GS OS 6.0.1, Shrinkit, and Diskcopy for your mac :-)
