You can specify whether the contents of a cell (numbers or text) will be displayed flush right or left, whether the dollar sign will be displayed, and whether a cell number is displaylicated material. First go to the STYLE section of the program (OA S) and specify the new style. Then when you access the COPY function, answer Yes when the program asks if you want to change the style of the material you're copying. To COPY the contents of a cell or group of cells, press OA C and enter the appropriate cell locations at the COPY FROM and COPY TO prompts. You can designate single cells or a range of cells. You are also given the option of changing the STYLE of the dupe data into the cell. You can also use EDIT to pick up the contents of any cell and "drop" them somewhere else on the spreadsheet. Press OA E to edit, then OA and cursor keys to move the pointer to the new cell, and press RETURN. Press OA E or = to EDIT the contents of a cell. The current entry will appear in the edit line at the bottom of the screen. Then type over the entry, or use the right/left CURSOR keys, or the TAB key to insert, or the DELETE key. Press RETURN to enter tho which they refer. You can also use MIXED absolute and relative references. For example, r1:[-1]c refers to all the cells in the current column from row 1 to the row above the current cell; you could use this to total a column of numbers. erences are easier to move to other parts of the sheet (for example with COPY), as long as you are moving both the formulas and the cells they refer to. ABSOLUTE references are better if you expect you will need to move formulas without moving the cells tations that depend on where the cell pointer is when you enter the reference. For example, r[-2]c+r[-1]c means add up the two cells above this one. Which two cells these are depends on the location of the cell pointer when you press RETURN. RELATIVE refABSOLUTE references refer to specific cell locations. For example, r1c1 refers to the cell in the upper left corner of the sheet, and r1:2c1 is the sum of the first two cells in column 1, regardless of where the pointer is. RELATIVE formulas refer to loceet once (auto recalc still remains off), or use OA O to turn auto recalc back on. ich is indicated at the bottom edge of the sheet with the < or > and # sign. #3 and #4 does the same for text and is indicated with the < or > sign and t. #5 and #6 turn the dollar sign on and off. There is box at the bottom of the sheet that will remindWhen you're ready to PRINT your spreadsheet, press OA P. A printing menu with 5 options will appear: (1) SET BLOCK -- Enter the block of cells to be printed. Remember that you have to set a block of cells that exceeds neither the width nor length of a sirectory listing of the master, enter /TRIO. Similarly, you can enter any specific volume name beginning with a slash to get a listing, but simply pressing RETURN is an easy shortcut. ENAME -- Enter both the old and new file names, separated by a comma. (4) DELETE -- Enter the file name to be deleted. (5) DIRECTORY -- Press 5 and then RETURN when prompted for the directory name. There are 5 Disk Commands: (1) LOAD -- To retrieve any of your previously saved files, press 1 andhave to do is press OA ^ to display a row, and OA < to display a column. This feature is particularly useful when you want to frequently display your headings or labels so that you don't lose your place on the sheet. If you want to create overlay windows in order to view two rows or columns (from different parts of the sheet) side by side, press OA W. Indicate the row or column you want displayed as a window. Once you've assigned a row or column as a window, all you ge the width of your columns (using OA L). Pressing OA M also displays the amount of memory remaining for formula entries. u can have as many as 99 columns OR 999 rows if you rearrange things a little bit. There are 3 MATRIX options: 1:New # Rows 2:New # Columns 3:Maximize Rows The program doesn't automatically maximize rows for you. It leaves some "slack" so you can chanyed. This amount depends on the dimensions of your MATRIX and how much available memory remains. Press OA M (MATRIX) to change the dimensions of the TRIO CALC matrix. When you first load up the program, you are given a 40 column by 81 row matrix, but yo each column is automatically set at a width of 9 characters. Press OA L to change the width of any column of cells. No column can contain fewer than 2 or more than 76 characters. When you access the LENGTH command, the amount of "spare length" is displa you which mode you are in. #7 and #8 indicate whether the values are displayed with two decimal places or floating point as indicated by the ".00" or "flt" in the box at the bottom edge of the sheet. If you press the OA (OPEN APPLE) key and either the UP or DOWN arrow key simultaneously, you can junp back or ahead one screen in your document. Press the OA numbers. "Reverse" means z-a for numbers and 9-0 for numbers. The program always executes a sort on the current field (the column in which the cell pointer is sitting). Remember, you can only sort by one field at a time. To sort your records (either alphabetically or numerically), press OA A (ARRANGE). Select the range to be sorted (the entire sheet or only the row range of the print block), and the order you want the field sorted.
